近年来，随着电网规模的日益扩大，大面积的停电故障时有发生。尤其是2003年8月14日美国和加拿大发生大停电之后，维护电网安全和预防连锁故障等方面的研究逐渐成为电力系统领域的热点。本课题组的主要研究内容是在电网发生故障的紧急状态下，采取适当的措施防止故障进一步扩散。
